Now, fifth, are compostions in progress, and works without a commission:

An opera ¨Serpent¨, based to my own libretto. (2004-2005) Infinished (composed partially in Miami Beach)The material now continued to help the music of ¨Tutankhamun¨-opera so far.

2007 olen kirjoittanut oopperalibreton muinaisegyptiläiseen kansantarinaan Bata.

2007 I've written an opera libretto Bata which is based to an ancient egyption folkstory. 24.12.2012 I  finished a libretto Bata. The synopsis is based to an ancient egyptian story.

A Mini-ballet for a dancer and chamber ensemble Bicyclist and green scarab, 2008.

Minibaletti tanssijalle ja kamariyhtyeelle Polkupyöräilijä ja vihreä skarabee, 2008

The operas about Tutankhamun.  I've gone through a serious seek, a personal growth, towards the understanding of opera librettos about Tutankhamun. The final libretto is ready, and the synopsis is here ready for reading. I went through many stages, first writing opera about Serpent (2002, 2004-2005), which remains unfinished, in order to reach this state where I am. Then I slightly started to realize opera librettos about Tutankhamun. The first names were: Gobbler,Market Square,Burning Nile and Burning Nile 2 (2007-2008). Then, Tutankhamun's childhood, Temple of Amun-Re and Gilded God (2009-2010)In 2013 the names of the ready librettos were: TUTANKHATEN- A FABULOUS CHILD and TUTANKHAMUN'S LIFE IN THE SUN- BLACK BIRDS. At 2015 I have combined and developed  them to be one opera, ¨TUTANKHAMUN¨. 2016 I still have shortened the libretto and made it better. The libretto is in english and in finnish.

Olen käynyt karmaetsinnän kirjoittaakseni librettoa.

Now, I have left the musical score of the ¨Serpent- opera¨, 52 minutes of the pianoscore (2004), 5 minutes of the orchestral score (2005) which I can apply to the final operalibretto about Tutankhamun filled then with magical music that really now has a great meaning.  The lyrical essence in the music is re-usable.

The whole opera work is framed by dreamlike, premonition-like tender, strawlike hoot.

All the way till the end there will be slowly developing and promoting hunting-like theme sung by various characters, mainly Tutankhamun and Horemheb which resembles real Tarantella emotion.

A real, wonderful longing images from the starters appearing theme in Akhetaten, Tutankhamun's city in birth, where the theme and harmony images first even unrealistic sense of distance, and later changes and developes into opera's important image of reality.

Even finally, this longing is so real. A beautiful nostalgy in musical love-themes is appearing all through the opera. And images the love life of Tutankhamun, first with his sister and wife, Ankhesenamun and then through the mentioned distantic longing appears also as romantic theme between men.

A spaceship appears through great nostalgy and rapid reason-themes. Later the sense of erotic themes is developed through this appearing first with men. Later also a woman, Meritaten gets an image of the theme. Finally, men's erotic theme and the ¨hunting¨-theme brings the reason to the final act. Child's loosing is memorized with a great theme.

Conspiracy priests mainly have their own rinsing horror-theme  that developes and horrifies. In the Opet-temple scene Tutankhamun kills the enemy conspirasic parties and gets his best and final share of the horror-theme. In the murder appears also a lightening serpent's eye theme which earlier appears.

But the karma is real. There's through a creeping mythology music that concearns the fire a most selectively memorable and tremendously beautiful raising theme, that rememberes all karma that in the opera is developed, like a victorious society feels.

Also, there appear a funny theme, close to the Tarantella, but a more funny, circling musing theme. All the way till the end this theme reapppears over and over again.

A special nostalgy appears through the somehow memorized exotic and powerful themes that in their glory express the final destinys of the main characters. There's reason in karma.

Neferitit is sung all through the work. And that mystic remains the reason.

As my composition-process concearning my orchestral work ¨Per-Djet¨ at year 2001 started in Egypt, visiting first time the tomb of Tut-ankh-amun, and the trips and residing at years 2004, 2011,2011, 2012, 2014 and 2014 it has become karma to realize the musical chance for this libretto, which in itself is a longer process comparing my chance-time in America (1998-2000) and studing books about Tutankhamun and writing libretto earlier for my dream-based opera ¨Osiris¨. (F.p. 2003) The main theme in the opera's libretto is however the personal somehow death-behind  memories. New themes will be applied from both the early own musical themes and dangerous historical themes, that are hypnotized and karma-multiple themes. They all have meaning and are appearing by karma. The music is connected to the early karma. All in all, the musical plans are deep. The most important thing about the coming music that I have to compose is that kind of deep lyricality, which wakes up idyllic illuminating feeling of distance in eternity and can therefore provide reason and special passion and sensual inspiration. So, the work will include mystical themes. In addition of it's beautiful singable themes with lucious harmonies, the work includes tarantella-like themes and very sensual beginning. The final result of the music is the most beautiful harmony all the way to the most scary bass. Thus, the libretto is ready. Here is the synopsis for You to read.

TUTANKHAMUN      Opera in four acts

Synopsis (duration 3 hours 45 minutes)

1st Act: In the opera ¨Tutankhamun¨ 3-years old Tutankhaten's real mother has committed a suicide, and Tutankhaten has to survive from Ay's snaketest. Tutankhaten is 9-years old. According to Akhenaten, the priests in Theba were selfish and raw. Ay has taken Tutankhaten to see the old now empty temples of Egypt and has taught him spell-writing. Tutankhaten is an estimating and larking young boy, who spies others and gets influences for example from the queen Nefertiti. All through Nefertiti's palace is heard the holy message of aten-god. Nefertiti takes the life of Semencuova, who betrayed her and suspects her being goddess and who is in love with Nefertiti's woman friend with the help of a snake. This has told Akhenaten that Nefertiti has made love to the messenger, which Nefertiti has done out of pity towards this, since Ankhenaten didn't care about his vital message concearning the state of the country.

Tutankhaten has a good relationship with his big brother Smenkhare, but him worshipping the aten-god, the sun-disk, and being his ftaher's favourite boy, Tutankhaten seeks the old gods Egypt being in chaos under the influence of aten-god in the guidance of king Akhenaten.

Smenkhare decides to kill Akhenaten, there he gets encouragement from the Red man, who has promised to love Smenkhare.  Smenkhare can't however tolerate the problems of the crown he inherited in Egypt, neither does his conscience the deed towards his father, despite he has married Meritaten, who earlier noticed him as his father's favourite boy, and finally decides to commit a suicide. Same does the Red man. Tutankhaten, who is 10-years is horrified, but he sees a spaceship, where he is selected to be a pharaoh. The spaceship is a kind of an oversight in time. The pharaoh has golddiggers and the seekers of the gold return from digging the gold from that area. Many dangers have threatened them in the field, but Tutankhamun wants by his lightness to predict Osiris's power by burning by mystical way dead thief's eye. In the name of Anubis-god Tutankhamun's jackals hunt an evil murderer, who threaten the sower of the field, and his heart is sacrificed to an honour of a big divinations happening of the pharaoh in the spirit of Amun-god where Tutankhamun's perspective is far-reaching and throughout-seeing.  Tutankhamun makes the acquaintance with Rosepriestboy.

Tutankhamun hosts an enlightening and liberating temple speech, where he brings a light from his father's town to renew Amun-god. He tells that he renews the sun in the night's flames, so that it can rise in the daytime to it's heyday as Re. He tells that Osiris rejoices in the underworld while wrong-doers are afraid, and Amun gets sacrifices. Two priests however weave a conspiracy against him, and don't want to write a new spell like he has suggested. They rebel against Tutankhamun's thoughts by believing into secretiveness and god Seth. Ankhesenamun has however foreseen the worst and rushes to warn. Tutankhamun kills the secret schmers, the two priests the end of the festival with an iron knife made of the meteorite. God Khonsu is born again. The priests and priestesses find a new hope in the god Osiris, the ruler of the underworld and praise Tutankhamun as the sun. The priests are happy about the god Amun, as Tutankhamun has uplifted the secret paths as bright sunlight, as Amun-Re. The priests, Tutankhamun and Ay predict that they don't end up as victims of such evil which in a way is the eye of Re.The complaining priest begs mercy for his illnesses caused by his sin. Tutankhamun gives inspiration to works. In the meanwhile, Ankhesenamun has lost the foetus. In the palace an envoy has earlier brought as a peace offer to Tutankhamun lapis-lazuli stone from abroad, so that his warlord Horemheb would not continue anymore the war. Sirpassu, Tutankhamun's friend who he has introduced the first iron-dagger in the world made of iron from the meteorite and decorated by the lapis-lazuli stone the envoy has brought, gets irritated by Tutankhamun's palacepriest who has threatened Ankhesenamun due her miscarriage. She, trying to kill this priest, ends up killing Minnakhte, Tutankhamun's boyfriend, since the palacepriest Lucky tackle her attempt to kill.

The priest helps him giving sticks to his chariot.   From the temple where he has prayed Horus, he continues to the desert with the help of a walking-stick, where he is accost by a mystical woman with a camel as a sign from the god Horus, who recommends him to have a child with a spare queen. Tutankhamun does so, and makes love to Meritaten, but next he wants a boy.  He travels to Akhetaten to seek peace.Dimaskeer is there by surprise. Now he makes him an invisible envoy of Amun. The rosepriestboy comes then there. Tutankhamun is bothered by the palacepriest Lucky, who threatened Ankhesenamun. In Nefertiti's palace Horemheb defies  Tutankhamun with the jackals thinking that his own warfare is most important downplaying the magical means. Tutankhamun's leg bothers him, and he faints and falls down the stairs. The rosepriestboy kills Lucky, since he has wanted the removal of Ankhesenamun from the palace. The horses bolt, and the wheel of a chariot drives over Tutankhamun.  In the ship on the journey to Theba Tutankhamun dies to his infection. In Theba, Ay and Ankhesenamun long after Tutankhamun. Tutankhamun's voice curses Horemheb never to have his own children.

The libretto of the opera is based to historical facts from many parts. The rest is my own imagination. In the libretto, I've used extracts from the hymn to Aten, from spells 17 and 26 from the Egyptian book of the Dead, from the book of the divine cow, from the enigmatic book of the Netherworld, from ancient Egyptian lovepoems and from the restauration stela of Tutankhamun.

SUOMEKSI:

Koko teosta reunustaa unenomainen, aavistuksenomainen hellä pillimäinen huhuilu.

Aivan teoksen loppuun asti tulee hitaasti kehittyvä ja esittelevä metsästysteema eri henkilöhahmoille, erityisesti Tutankhamunin ja Horemhebin laulamina. Teema muistuttaa todellista räiskyvää Tarantella-teemaa. Todellista ihanaa kaipausta kuvaa alusta asti Akhetatenissa, Tutankhamunin syntymäkaupungissa alkava teema ja harmonia joka aluksi kuvaa epärealististakin etäisyyttä, ja myöhemmin muuntuu oopperan tärkeäksi todellisuuden kuvaksi. Lopultakin kaipaus on aitoa.

Kaunis nostalgia musikaalisissa rakkausteemoissa ilmaantuu kautta oopperan.

Lapsenmenetys oopperassa on ilmaistu erityisen kauniisti.

Karmassa on syy.

Nefertiti lauletaan läpi teoksen. Ja se mystikko jää syyn.

Kun sävellysprosessini koskien orkesteriteostani ¨Per-Djet¨ vuonna 2001 alkoi Egyptissä, vierailllen ensimmäistä kertaa Tut-ankh-Amunin haudassa, asiasta on tullut karma käsittää musiikillinen mahdollisuus tähän librettoon farao Tutankhamunista, mikä itsessään on pidempiaikainen prosessi verraten mahdollisuus aikaani Amerikassa (1998-2000) ja lukien kirjoja Tutankhamunista ja kirjoittaen aiemmin librettoa uneeni perustuvaan oopperaani ¨Osiris¨. (F.p. 2003). Pääteema oopperan libretossa on kuitenkin jollain lailla kuolematakaiset muistot.

Musiikki on idyllistynyt alkaiseksi syyksi. Musiikin lopputuols on kauneinta mahdollista harmoniaa pelottavimpaan bassoon saakka.

Ohessa on oopperan ¨Tutankhamun¨ synopsis:

TUTANKHAMUN    Ooppera neljässä näytöksessä

1.Näytös: Oopperassa Tutankhamun(kesto 3 tuntia 45 minuuttia) 3-vuotiaan Tutankhatenin oikea äiti on tehnyt itsemurhan, ja Tutankhatenin pitää selvitä Ay:n käärmetestistä. Tutankhaten on 9-vuotias. Lopulta Tutankhaten harhauttaa 10-vuotis syntymäpäivänsä päätteeksi jossa hän on tanssinut tanssin tähdistä, hänen henkeään salaa uhanneen  Dimaskeer:n lähtemään Thebaan aten-jumalan valtikkaa viemään. Avaruusalus on ylinäkö ajassa.  Ay  valitsee Tutankhatenin faraoksi tämän saaman valaistumisen vuoksi. Ankhesenaten on hänelle luonteva vaimo.

2.Näytös: Myöhemmin Thebassa nuorena aikuisena Tutankhamun on valaistuksen saanut nuori farao.Hän yrittää kertoa isänsä ajatuksista papeille ja kertoo että voi voittaa Egyptin vanhat jumalat puolelleen. Kaksi pappia on häntä vastaan, ja Dimaskeer kokee joutuneensa pelleksi.   Tutankhamun palaa sotaretkeltä Nubiasta. Hän on nähnyt oudon valopallon, meteoriitin putoavan taivaalta. Hänellä on kullankaivajia ja kullanetsijät palaavat etsimästä kultaa alueelta. Monet vaarat ovat uhanneet heitä kentällä, mutta Tutankhamun haluaa valoisuudellaan ennustaa heille Osiriksen vallan polttamalla mystisesti kuolleen varkaan silmän. Tutankhamunin shakaalit saalistavat puolestaan pahan murhaajan Anubis-jumalan nimessä, joka uhkaa pellonkylväjää, ja hänen sydämensä uhrataan faraon suuren ennustustilaisuuden kunniaksi Amun-jumalan hengessä, jossa Tutankhamunin perspektiivi on kauaskantoinen ja läpinäkevä. Tutankhamun tutustuu ruusupappipoikaan.

Tutankhamun on onnellinen vauvasta jota hänen kuningattarensa Ankhesenamun kantaa.

Tutankhamunin suuressa Opet-juhlassa, missä papeilla on hyvä tunnelma salajuonittelijat yrittävät ottaa Tutankhamunin hengen Dimaskeer:n harhauttaessa häntä, joka on tajunnut joutuneensa Tutankhamunin ansaan. Ankhesenamun on kuitenkin aavistanut pahinta, ja ryntää varoittamaan. Tutankhamun tappaa salaliittolaiset meteoriitista tehdyllä rautapuukolla, ne kaksi pappia juhlan päätteeksi. Khonsu syntyy.Papit ja papittaret löytävät uutta toivoa jumala Osiriksessa, manalan hallitsijassa, ja ylistävät Tutankhamunia aurinkona. Papit ovat onnellisia jumala Amunista, kun Tutankhamun on kohottanut salaiset polut kirkkaaksi auringoksi, Amun-Re:ksi. Papit, Tutankhamun ja Ay ennustavat etteivät joudu sellaisen pahan uhriksi, joka on tavallaan auringon silmä. Valittava pappi anoo armoa synnillisiin sairauksiinsa. Tutankhamun antaa inspiraatiota töihin.Tässä välissä Ankhesenamun on menettänyt sikiön. Palatsissa Lähettiläs on aiemmin  tuonut rauhaneleenä Tutankhamunille lapis-lazuli kiviä ulkomailta, ettei hänen sotapäällikkönsä  Horemheb jatkaisi enää sotaa. Yhdessä he surevat Ankhesenamunin kanssa.

Horemheb on huolissaan Tutankhamunista.

2. Kohtaus: Hän matkustaa Akhetateniin etsimään rauhaa. Dimaskeer on yllättäen siellä. Nyt hän tekee tästä Amunin näkymättömän lähettilään.  Ruusupappipoika tulee sitten sinne. Laivassa matkalla Thebaan Tutankhamun kuolee infektioonsa.

Kuluu 14 vuotta. Horemheb on farao. Tutankhmunin ääni kiroaa Horemhebin olemaan koskaan saamatta lapsia.

Oopperoiden libretot pohjautuvat monilta osin historiallisille tosiseikoille. Loput ovat omaa mielikuvitustani. Libretossa olen käyttänyt katkelmia Atenin hymnistä, loitsuista 17 ja 26 Egyptian book of the Dead:sta, Book of the Divine cow:sta, Enigmatic book of the Netherworld:sta, muinaisegyptiläisistä rakkausrunoista, ja Tutankhamunin restaurointi stelasta.
